Howdy

Welcome to my photography blog!

I’ll be posting a few times each month on various topics. I plan to cover some tips, tricks, and the stories behind the photos among other things. Feel free to reach out if you want to learn more about a specific topic, photo, have an idea for a blog post or just to say howdy.

A quick story on this photo. This is Delicate Arch in Arches National Park, Utah. A great place to visit near Moab. It’s a popular park in general but especially Delicate Arch, which is a short hike from a parking area. This photo at sunset appears tranquil and serene.

Here is the reality.

You have to arrive fairly early and use your elbows to stake out a spot. Lots of chit-chat and trading of stories filled the air until sunset approached then …

the sound of shutters clicking non-stop echoed off the rocks. If someone dared to step underneath the arch everyone let them know to move on in agitated tones.

I’d highly recommend going, just be prepared.
